Project
For the renovation work on the George Washington Bridge, sockets and pins were required whose surface finishing had to meet defined requirements. The solution was corrosion protection with microZINQ.
Realisation
In early January 2018, the first two sockets were micro-galvanised for testing purposes; by the end of the month, the first consignment was already waiting in Hagen to be immersed in the zinc bath consisting of 95 parts % zinc and 5 parts % aluminium. Sockets and pins of two different types, as well as so-called connector pins, were protected against corrosion using microZINQ.
