microZINQ galvanisation + colorZINQ topcoat of lifting devices

When Palfinger Tail Lifts had its first tail lifts hot-dip galvanised by ZINQ a few years ago, the duroZINQ process in accordance with DIN EN ISO 1461 was still used. This is a process which, alongside corrosion protection lasting decades, also involves an increase in weight of five to seven percent. For the Swiss Army's vehicle tail lifts, Palfinger then looked for a „lighter“ finish that would nevertheless be exceptionally high-performing even under highly corrosive conditions.
Realisation
The solution was the microZINQ alloy developed with the automotive industry. The fact that the weight increase caused by microZINQ is only one to two percent is a decisive advantage. In addition, the assemblers at Palfinger Tail Lifts have less work both in post-processing and during the assembly of the tail lifts at the Palfinger Tail Lifts site in Ganderkesee, and the micro-galvanised components also have a higher dimensional accuracy than conventionally hot-dip galvanised elements. The fact that the surfaces finished at the ZINQ site in Hagen also save 80 percent of the zinc resource and are exceptionally high-performing even under highly corrosive conditions are further arguments in favour of microZINQ.
