25 metres above the ground, located deep in the Brandenburg forest, a treetop walkway was to lead to the Beelitz Heilstätten, a historically and architecturally interesting ruin. Countless steel circular supports, each 14 metres long and weighing 6.5 tonnes, were to form the framework for the bridge-like overall structure, and the delivery of the finished steel structures into the middle of the forest had to take place in the exact assembly sequence. The goal: to create a long-lasting tourist attraction with the highest aesthetic standards.

Realisation

ZINQ at the Landsberg/Halle site, with its established duroZINQ hot-dip galvanising process, provided long-lasting corrosion protection and a visually striking finish for the circular columns. Using the 15.5-metre bath, in which components weighing up to 10 tonnes can be galvanised in a single operation, the complete material was processed and delivered just-in-sequence in just five production weeks – and all this under the most difficult transport conditions.
