Project
ZINQ add-on product in practical use.
Substructures of fermentation and storage tanks for beer are to be batch galvanised. The challenge: an approximately 104 mm wide area on each substructure component was to remain zinc-free with a view to subsequent further processing or assembly in Brazil. The solution: ZINQ free – a temperature-resistant tape for the precise and rapid masking of surfaces prior to galvanising.
Realisation
ZINQ free can be applied very easily to the cleaned surface to be protected, and hot-dip galvanising can be carried out immediately after application and pressing down. To keep the approximately 104 mm wide area at each end of the pipes free of zinc, the surface to be masked is wrapped with ZINQ free prior to batch galvanising. For this purpose, a tape width of 50 mm is applied twice and the narrower tape with a width of 20 mm is applied once.
The „ZINQ free for Brazil“ project was completed within 4 months.
