For the new construction of the Haffkrug pier in the Bay of Lübeck, particularly reliable corrosion protection was required to protect various steel components from the challenging maritime environment. The client therefore opted for the tried-and-tested and sustainable duroZINQ piece galvanising, which not only meets the highest requirements for corrosion protection (C5) but also proves, with long-term studies, how reliably and durably this protection works. In this way, maintenance effort for the steel structure can also be minimised for a long time.

Realisation

Over 230 tonnes of steel structures were immersed in the liquid hot zinc melt at ZINQ in Landsberg / Halle between August 2023 and July 2024. The components, which were sustainably protected from corrosion, then moved directly to the beach construction site. The pier has been open since the end of September 2024.
