Surface technology provider separates old galvanised steel in-house process.
In mid-July 2021, parts of Germany experienced extreme severe weather, affecting Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia in particular. The flood also damaged the suspension ferry in the Müngsten Bridge Park (NRW) so severely that it had to temporarily suspend its operations. As part of the repair work, galvanized components belonging to the housing of the tension weights are also to be replaced. But what to do with the old material when it comes to preserving the circular quality of the resources as best as possible? The client chose ReZINQ to close the loop for galvanized scrap material.
Realisation
Using the ZINQ depotmobil collection service, the galvanised enclosure components that were heavily damaged by the flood are transported away and taken to the ZINQ site in Essen. Steel and zinc are separated on-site using a proprietary dezincification process before being recycled in closed loops, thereby avoiding waste and resource wastage and resulting in closed product cycles.
