Project

State-of-the-art hot-dip galvanising plant also sets ecological standards.

The new, modern facility has found its home on the site of Saferoad’s Inter Metal production plant and covers approx. 6,000 sqm of indoor and office space as well as almost 20,000 sqm of outdoor space for technology and logistics. A green space of around 1,200 sqm rounds off the overall picture.

For the planning, construction and operation of a new hot-dip galvanising plant at the site of its steel safety barrier manufacturer Inter Metal in Inowroclaw (Poland), Saferoad is seeking appropriate advice, support and guidance. ZINQ Technologie, a company in the ZINQ Group, provided the solution by granting a licence for the system and technology of the duroZINQ corrosion protection process.

Realisation

In June 2021, the new hot-dip galvanising plant already successfully completed its test run with initial dips. At its heart is a zinc bath with dimensions of 9 metres in length, 1.6 metres in width and 5 metres in depth, as well as a pre-treatment line to prepare the steel safety barriers accordingly for a bath in the hot duroZINQ melt. An employee of ZINQ Technologie is regularly on site in Poland for a year to assist with controlling the processes and organising the new galvanising plant.
