For an art object in Alsdorf/NRW, which is to be part of an experiential cycling loop and at the same time an eyecatcher for an adventure museum and the tourist information office located there, long-lasting corrosion protection is being sought. The Alsdorf ZINQ plant is undertaking the immersion of individual components into the duroZINQ bath and prior coordination regarding hot-dip galvanising-compliant design.

 

Realisation

The arms, legs, back and head of the cyclist were batch-galvanised in Alsdorf using duroZINQ, with the back being single-dipped, whereby precisely fitting holes ensured a smooth inflow and throughput of the liquids during the galvanising process. Two original rope sheaves from the Eduardschacht headframe, which was demolished in 1994, were used for the two „tyres“ and anchored in the ground. The team from Bontenbroich GmbH installed the art object in just two days.
