Project
Elaborate decors thanks to decoZINQ
The operators of the Nigloland amusement park in France were looking for a high-quality, corrosion-resistant and visually appealing design option for various structural elements intended for the playground area of the nearby Hôtel des Pirates****. With decoZINQ, a decor with the desired properties could be realised thanks to innovative dye-sublimation technology.
Realisation
First, the parts, which were up to 16 metres long, were prepared by sandblasting to remove the old coating. Galvanising was then carried out. This was followed by the application of a primer, and then a top coat of polyurethane powder in the base colour of the decor. The component prepared in this way was then brought into contact with a decorative film. The workpiece was subsequently exposed to a temperature of 200 °C and, as a result of the heat, the printing ink penetrated the powder layer by means of sublimation—that is, through the direct transition from the solid to the gaseous phase. After the carrier film was removed, the components with the desired decor were used on the playground site.
