More than 6,500 tonnes of batch-galvanised steel by ZINQ are being used in French Guiana; ZINQ tags are also part of the mix.

For the construction of an assembly hall and a launch tower or ramp in French Guiana, various components are to be batch hot-dip galvanised as part of the „Ariane 6“ project. In addition, ZINQ is to organise container call-offs including the shipping of general cargo of any kind (for example, lifting platforms or building materials). For component marking, identification, traceability and documentation along the entire process chain, the customer Heidemann relies on ZINQ Tags.

Realisation

The construction site at Kourou is colossal: vast amounts of concrete and steel are still waiting to be installed to enable the launch of the Ariane 6 rocket. A total of 9 sub-contractors are sending their steel components to Landsberg. These include the company Heidemann Stahl- und Montagebau in Volkmarsen, which has so far ordered more than 58,000 ZINQ tags, individually labeled using a laser printer, from the company SENiT in order to identify each component individually. The company is one of the fabricators working for ARGE Launcher A6 GbR, which in turn is a sub-contractor of SEH Engineering GmbH. In addition to shipping all kinds of mixed cargo, such as building materials, paint components or technology, ZINQ also handles the organization of container call-offs including the associated correspondence – a special crane system was even installed at the site for loading to enable precise loading. With a maximum loading time of 45 minutes, thanks to pre-packed containers, quick changes and thus short waiting times for the truck drivers are guaranteed.
