Project name: ELISA – Electrified, innovative heavy-duty transport on motorways.

duroZINQ hot-dip galvanising of around 230 masts intended for the construction of Germany's first test track for electrically powered trucks. The surface finishing contract was awarded to ZINQ via the Romanian system licensee DUAL MAN; the planning and construction of the pilot plant on the A5 between Frankfurt and Darmstadt is being carried out by Siemens AG.

Realisation

Pipes with lengths between 12 and 13.2 metres and unit weights between 1.4 and 2 tonnes were durably hot-dip galvanised and finally installed on the five-kilometre section between the Langen/Mörfelden and Weiterstadt junctions. Trial operation of the ZINQ-protected system is scheduled to begin in 2019 and run until the end of 2022. The core objective of ELISA is to evaluate whether and in what form regular operation of the e-highway on German motorways might be implemented in the future.
