Project
Steel structure for the Elversberg stadium roof shortly before immersion into the 450 °C molten zinc.
Stahlbau Gross and ZINQ have worked in partnership to create a new stand roof for the stadium redevelopment of SV Elversberg. The batch-galvanised steel construction components, measuring up to 18 metres in length, combine the highest corrosion protection standards in accordance with DASt-022 with the Cradle to Cradle certified duroZINQ surface. Thanks to precise logistics based on ZINQ 360 and efficient implementation, the structure is optimally equipped for the future – a win for fans, the club and the environment.
Realisation
Project-related discussions between Stahlbau Gross and ZINQ began in the summer of 2024, and the galvanising of the components took place as early as November 2024. These included particularly large girders and trusses, some of which were up to 18 metres long. The clever logistics based on ZINQ 360 was a decisive success factor in this project: five truckloads of hot-dip galvanised structural steel components were transported just-in-time from Landsberg directly to the construction site. This made it possible to adhere to the tight schedule and ensure the rapid realisation of the project.
