With CO2Integrating transport into everyday life – with maximum practicality: on 4 and 5 June 2025, an intensive driver training session with a professional trainer from Renault Trucks took place at the ZINQ site in Landsberg near Halle. Both drivers of the fully electric articulated lorry were trained individually – not on a training ground, but in real-world operation on their daily routes.

Trainer Detlev Stumpf, Operational and Implementation Specialist E-Tech at our partner Renault Trucks, was satisfied: „The driving behaviour was assured. The technology is spot-on. It's more a matter of the fine-tuning that we worked on together. The two ZINQ drivers were open-minded and immediately put the advice into practice.“ The training focussed on, among other things, range optimisation, recuperation (i.e. recovering energy during braking to support battery charging), the targeted use of vehicle-specific assistance systems and energy-saving driving – in this case, fully electric.

One of the training tours led to the steel construction customer Stabakon in Blankenburg, where, as usual, black material was collected for piece galvanising. Stefan Schulze, managing director of Stabakon, is convinced by the electric operation: „The fact that a heavy lorry drives onto our site with zero local emissions and quietly while reliably collecting material was an aha moment for many here. CO2“-arm logistics is no longer just a vision for us, but a reality. It is precisely partners like ZINQ that are needed to work together more sustainably." At this point, a heartfelt thank you to Stabakon for their support.

The feedback from the drivers after the training session is very positive: „That was really worthwhile – super practical and directly applicable,“ says Ronny Jackewitz. Michael Koßmann adds: „The tips on recuperation and the specifics of anticipatory electric driving in particular were worth their weight in gold.“
The driver training shows that sustainability only unfolds its full impact when technology is not merely present, but understood and used sensibly. That is why ZINQ, together with Renault Trucks, relies on targeted training and continuous knowledge exchange.

With the integration of all-electric Renault Trucks E-Tech tractor units, ZINQ is continuing to consistently pursue the path towards CO2-armer logistics as part of the circular business model Planet ZINQ. The new vehicles are being deployed at the Landsberg near Halle and Gelsenkirchen sites and are operated entirely on green electricity via our own charging infrastructure.

Company-owned hyperchargers enable rapid charging – independently of the public grid. This ensures that reliable, emission-free transport is available to customers every day. Through the interplay of electrified vehicles, intelligent infrastructure and targeted driver training, ZINQ once again demonstrates how resource-efficient mobility in the sense of a circular economy can be achieved.
