For the new construction of the daycare center „Sausewind“ in Niefern-Öschelbronn in Baden-Württemberg, ZINQ has refurbished various steel construction positions from Schlosserei Hey + Seither, including steel formwork, railings, and two exterior stairs. The three-story wooden building with green façades and surrounding terraces was designed according to the requirements of the Sustainable Building (QNG) quality label. Accordingly, the demands on the corrosion protection of the steel exterior components were high. The stair construction was zinc-plated in the vertical dip process at the ZINQ site in Maintal; the boiler with dimensions of 8.5 meters x 2.6 meters x 3.3 meters provided the necessary capacity. The rest of the steel construction positions were refurbished at the ZINQ site in Bruchsal. duroZINQ was used for the spot-zinc coating. duroZINQ is Cradle to Cradle Certified® according to Version 5.0 in the areas of circularity and material health. Furthermore, duroZINQ is documented for common building assessment systems. As part of ZINQ 360, ZINQ also took on the drilling of the openings in the steps to avoid air inclusions when diving into the zinc bath.
