Six 20-foot containers with the remarkable dimensions of 6.058 x 2.438 x 2.591 m are to be finished with duroZINQ for the Dutch customer Novetec BV. The galvanised containers are subsequently fitted by Novetec with special equipment such as pumps and diesel generator sets, and are used worldwide, for example in the offshore sector or in flood-affected areas.

Realisation

For this project, the Maintal site was chosen due to its geographical proximity to the manufacturer of the six containers. Chris Sapart, Business Development expert at ZINQ Technologie, had already provided advisory support to the customer beforehand. Despite the design being largely suitable for hot-dip galvanising, several preparations still had to be made on-site in Maintal: venting holes had to be enlarged and pipes installed, for example between the side members, to prevent distortion. Just a few centimetres between the container wall and the edge of the kettle, and custom-built scrapers designed specifically for this project, are further indications that there were quite a few challenges – which, however, were successfully overcome. Furthermore, the customer Novetec was also impressed by the result.
