Friedrich Kicherer GmbH & Co. KG and the ZINQ Group have enjoyed a strong partnership since 2017, which was further strengthened in February 2025. Since February, approximately 90 % of Kicherer’s bar steel range has been CO₂-reduced and is hot-dip galvanised exclusively with the environmentally optimised ecoZINQ coating. By using low-carbon primary zinc, produced using renewable energy, and low-carbon secondary zinc, ecoZINQ offers the lowest carbon footprint of any hot-dip galvanised finish in the industry. This solution saves 185 kg of CO₂ per tonne of steel compared with high-quality coating systems. Another key component of the collaboration is ZINQ 360: the storage of raw steel at several ZINQ sites until it is called off by Kicherer ensures efficient and resource-saving logistics.
