Friedrich Kicherer GmbH & Co. KG and the ZINQ Group have enjoyed a strong partnership since 2017, which was further strengthened in February 2025. Since February, approximately 90 % of Kicherer’s bar steel range has been CO2-reduced and is exclusively hot-dip galvanised with the environmentally optimised ecoZINQ surface. Through the use of CO2-reduced primary zinc, which is produced using renewable energy, and CO2-reduced secondary zinc, ecoZINQ offers the lowest CO2-Footprint of all batch galvanising surfaces in the industry. Per tonne of steel, this solution saves 185 kg of CO2 compared to high-quality coating systems. An important component of the collaboration is also ZINQ 360: storing the black material at multiple ZINQ sites until it is called off by Kicherer ensures efficient and resource-saving logistics.
