It's that time again. 22 new apprentices are starting their vocational training today across Germany.

You will be trained as a process mechanic for coating technology with a focus on hot-dip galvanising; a vocational training course that is unique to ZINQ.

In addition to their vocational school lessons, trainees at ZINQ gain practical insights: whether it's visiting other innovative companies, practical training on welding technology in the modern workshops of GSI SLV 'Auf Schalke', or an internship in the technical centre of the company Henkel in Düsseldorf – the training at ZINQ makes it possible.

Your own training programme, a complete, own vocational school class and a multitude of applications with a corresponding applicant profile. These are just some of the key aspects of "Mach dein ZINQ", ZINQ's training initiative, which received the "Ausbildungs-Ass in Gold" award.

The apprenticeship program was established in 2001 as a company-specific initiative to address an urgent need for skilled training, starting with 18 apprentices for three years, as there was no existing apprenticeship for hot-dip galvanizing, unlike in the electroplating sector. Today, the ZINQ Group fills an entire vocational school class in Gelsenkirchen with its commercial apprentices each year.

More than 80 % trainees are now taken on each year, and one in ten of the former industrial trainees now holds a management position in a production-related role.

In talent acquisition, 'Do Your ZINQ' combines classic recruitment measures in collaboration with the Employment Agency and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce with an online campaign: on the campaign website www.mach-dein-zinq.com everything to do with training, including current blog posts, information about training, as well as YouTube films about training and production processes, is visible.
The special thing about it: The website is designed and managed exclusively by its own apprentices. The company relies fully on originality and authenticity.
