Euro 2024 is bringing not only international football to Gelsenkirchen, but also a spotlight on a region that has far more to offer than passionate football tradition. A former coal and steel region has transformed into a future-proof business location with a high quality of life and an attractive cultural landscape.

This successful structural change is also the subject of the film „From Coal to Goal“, which WiN Emscher-Lippe GmbH produced for the region on behalf of strong corporate partners. Climate protection company ZINQ is also part of the feature, revealing how, as a pioneer in circular transformation, it is helping to make the Emscher-Lippe region a beacon of sustainability and innovation.

By doing so, ZINQ is already implementing the EU Green Deal's triple objective: zero waste, zero carbon, zero pollution. As an active supporter of the Klimahafen Gelsenkirchen initiative, the company is working together with other energy-intensive businesses on the decarbonisation of industry, thereby further driving the circular transformation of the region. Specifically, ZINQ is planning to use green hydrogen as a carbon-free energy source as early as 2027.
