An expert jury, chaired by Prof. Dr. Günther Bachmann, Secretary General of the Council for Sustainable Development, selected the finalists for the German Sustainability Award on 9 September 2015.

Out of over 500 competitors, 15 companies and 9 cities were nominated in 8 categories for this highly regarded and prestigious award.

In the Special Prize category for „Resource Efficiency“, ZINQ® Voigt & Schweitzer has qualified alongside the corporations BASF SE and Robert Bosch GmbH.

The special prize recognises exemplary entrepreneurial commitment in recycling, raw material, and resource management. It aims to highlight strategies and solutions that have model and best-practice character in a crucial field of sustainable development. The prize is intended to increase interest in recycling issues while simultaneously emphasizing the relevance of resource efficiency and the circular economy.

The special prize for „Resource Efficiency“ is awarded to a company that, in its application, consistently demonstrates that it has successfully established measures for resource conservation, raw material, and energy efficiency within its production and value chain.

The German Sustainability Award (DNP) is the national award for commitment to sustainability and one of the most prestigious awards of its kind in Europe. It is presented by the Foundation German Sustainability Award e. V. (Stiftung Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitspreis e. V.) in cooperation with the Federal Government, municipal associations, business associations, civil society organisations and research institutions. The German Sustainability Award honours companies that outstandingly combine economic success with social responsibility and environmental protection, thereby promoting the idea of a sustainable society in a special way. The German Sustainability Award 2015 is under the patronage of Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The winners will be announced on 27 November 2015 at a festive awards ceremony as part of the 8th German Sustainability Conference in Düsseldorf. Only then will nominees and the public find out who has won the German Sustainability Award (DNP) 2015.
