It's a monumental undertaking: By 2050 at the latest, all European states are to be climate-neutral. A central building block of the „EU New Green Deal“ is the transformation of the existing „take – make – waste“ economy into a circular economy. This also means a rethink for the construction and building industry. While circular economy practices present major challenges for building materials like concrete and wood, metals, and steel in particular, are the ideal materials for achieving climate goals. KG, Christian Wurst, Managing Director of Wurst Stahlbau GmbH, and Marc Blum, Managing Director of the initiative Zinkstahl, discuss the opportunities for the material in an interview with Stahlreport.
