After the duroZINQ® surface was awarded the first Cradle to Cradle® certification back in 2013, the thin-layer batch galvanising process microZINQ® from the technology service provider and licensor in the batch galvanising industry, ZINQ® Technologie GmbH, has now received this special certification.

As a result, all ZINQ® hot-dip galvanising surfaces are now certified to Cradle to Cradle® standards. Essentially, Cradle to Cradle® recognises no waste. Instead, during the development and production process itself, products are evaluated as resources for the next phase of use and are optimised for their subsequent material life at this early stage.

The US environmental regulatory authority ranks the Cradle to Cradle® product certification among the most meaningful and demanding standards and environmental labels. Thanks to this latest certification, the duroZINQ® and microZINQ® surfaces guarantee one hundred percent recyclability in consistently high quality. Furthermore, they are free from non-recyclable substances in the process and in the product – already in compliance with the requirements of the EU Circular Economy directives.

Since 2010, ZINQ® Technology has been working with the Hamburg environmental institute EPEA (Environmental Protection Encouragement Agency), which in turn has been designated by the American C2CPII as a licensed auditor. The actual certificate, as it has now been presented to ZINQ, is ultimately issued by the Americans. As an auditor, the German EPEA has embarked on a path of rigorous verification and transformation of all material cycles.
Following the completion of all audits, ZINQ offers worldwide the only products in the field of surface technology that are certified according to the „Cradle to Cradle®“ standard, thereby enabling closed material cycles within the process and on the product.
