ZINQ, with a Q for Quality, is also being recognised in 2014: from 6 nominated industrial companies, the jury chose the traditional Gelsenkirchen-based company. Special emphasis was placed on the commitment to and within the region, „Mach dein ZINQ“ (Make Your ZINQ) as a training initiative, and the high power of innovation with resource-efficient surfaces such as microZINQ® and ecoZINQ®.

The Vestian Business Award focused on industry this year and was presented for the tenth time. The nomination of the best industrial companies from the northern Ruhr area was based on a quantitative scoring model from the Westfälische Hochschule, involving a student project group. Following an initial nomination round, the award winners were then selected by a panel of experts.

For Voigt & Schweitzer, the award is further confirmation that the company's strategic direction, with its focus on values, tradition, training, and innovation, provides a sustainable business foundation.
